A+. Ordered take-out pork egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, and broccoli & chicken tonight (side of rice included).
Everything was fresh, not soggy (*praise hands*), and appropriately priced. And the woman behind the register was sweet as can be.
Think I found my new go-to Chinese place here in the Cities! -

The service here was unbelievable: and not in a good way. The waitress, Mae (if that's her name), had an attitude with me from the time I asked for my table to be wiped off. Once seated, she brought me water and walked away. NO straw. NO drink order. When she finally took my food order (while wiping down another table) she promptly walked away without asking my specifications nor giving me time to tell her. She took it upon herself to order me fried rice (which I hate) and wontons (I wanted to try the eggroll). When I explained this to her, she caught an attitude and said since I didn't tell her what I wanted, she already told the chef and they're already cooking it. I told her she didn't give me a chance to tell her, and that I absolutely will not eat fried rice. She yelled back to the kitchen correcting my order, interspersed with a few choice words for me, I'm sure. This made me extremely uncomfortable. I actually considered walking out. But, I wanted to give the place a fair chance.
When my food finally arrived, she threw my plate on the table and walked away. NO sauces, NO chopsticks, NO napkins. All of which I had to flag her down and request. Then very snidely she asks, "do you need anything else?!" Even before I could answer, she was gone.
The food was decent (7/10) a little cold and bland, but I ate what I could b/c I didn't feel like dealing with "Mae" anymore at that point. I got upset as I looked around as I ate and noticed the rest of the patrons enjoying their hot meals, teas, steaming soups, and utensils (chopsticks). I couldn't help but wonder if it was b/c I was the only AA woman dining-in. And they were all Chinese men.
The restaurant did have a lot of take-away orders, so I'm guessing the rest of the food is pretty good. My chicken was over fried and under sauced, and like I said, all of my food was cold (except the eggroll).
I'm not sure if "Mae" is new, or was just having a bad day, but her customer service was horrible and her attitude was extremely nasty. I don't think I'll be visiting this establishment again just b/c of her unprofessionalism.
**edit** their saving grace was their low prices. Gotta give them that. -

This is an extremely fast, but also extremely authentic Chinese take-out (or dine-in) spot! They have a large selection of dishes and all different types of sides. I tend to stick to the dinner special since I love the entree with the side of rice and the wontons! You get all this for about $10! The fried rice is amazing so don't skip out on that :) I love the sesame chicken and the General Tso's chicken, and the dinner special comes with 3 wontons!
They have a shared parking lot which makes it easy to run in for take-out and for dine-in. Great price, great food, and great service! They're great about getting orders perfectly. I will continue to get Kowloon time and time again! -

I have been there once. It's not really a place I would crave for all the time after my first visit. The flavors were basic as a normal Chinese-American food. The price was very reasonable and they have some nice Cantonese dessert. Convenient location as it's about 5 minutes walk from the closest lightrail station. Would be willing to give it a try and order something else on the menu next time!

I'll lay down the downsides first: small and crowded restaurant, do not expect a good dine-in experience here. Authenticity wise, some of the dishes are really as authentic as they can be - like the real Chinese food you will find in China. Others, not so much.
However, I would still give them five stars, if not more. The service is exceptionally fast, and I can always walk in, order a take-out, and leave with my food before the current song on my phone finishes. The food is great too. Authenticity aside, they taste good. Price is low, portion is big. I would order one dish and expect to rely on it for at least one whole day. The staff is friendly. Very nice people who would recommend daily special to you, and the waitress remembers my preference even though I have only visited there three times before. This has become my go-to take-out food place since I moved to Minneapolis. Highly recommend to anyone who does not care about the dining environment (seriously the dining place is the smallest I could remember, but the U of M students just love this place)
